Chapter 15 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex is yet another explosive chapter that introduces more exciting plot points for the story. We get to not only see how the Gaara, Shink, and Matsuri altercation played out, but we also learn more about Code’s new developments and Kawaki’s new goal. Without futher ado, let’s get right into the chapter!

What Happened in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15?

Chapter 15 starts off with us getting a glimpse of what happened in the fight with Shinki, Gaara, and Matsuri. Standing in front of Shinki’s team is a badly injured Gaara standing off against Matsuri. Gaara was more than willing to risk his life to save the youth behind him, so he planned on transporting them to the village and fighting Matsuri alone. However, Shinki was not having it, and used Magnetic Particle Barrier Palm to seal Gaara safely. This, of course, led to Shinki getting bit by a Claw Grime and turning into a tree. While Gaara and the others managed to be safe, Matsuri felt Shinki’s bravery would be useful as a potential humanoid Divine Tree teammate, hence Ryu’s birth.

This leads us back to the present moment, where Kankuro and Shikamaru discuss the situation. While Kankuro is at ease learning that Gaara and the others are fine, he notes that the only way to save Gaara is by having Shinki undo the barrier. However, Shinki is a tree at the moment, creating problems for the Sand Village. As we learned from Boruto in Chapter 12, the only way to save someone from being a tree is by destroying their humanoid Divine Tree counterpart, taking their Thorn Soul Bulb, and providing it to the tree. In this case, Ryu must be defeated in order to save Shinki and Gaara simultaneously.

Jura Moving His Chess Pieces

We then see Jura and Ryu talking amongst each other in their hideout. While Jura talks to Ryu about the importance of knowing his name, Ryu detects Code lurking underneath him and uses some Sand power to drag him out. Code acts aggressively afterward, saying that they should be focused on devouring Ohtsutsuki instead of sniffing around in other areas. He also mentions to Jura that he shouldn’t get the Chakra Fruit and that he should instead. The interesting thing that happens next, though, is that Jura starts to wonder what if all the Divine Trees ate it instead. This seemed to be a pretty snarky remark at Code’s words, implying that the Divine Trees will eventually defy Code. This makes Code charge violently at Jura, but ultimately fails by a tailed beast bomb attack.

They eventually ended up striking a deal that if Code defeats Boruto and Kashin Koji, he will receive the Chakra fruit. However, I’ve been reading and watching fiction long enough to know that this isn’t how it’s gonna play out in the future. The Divine Trees are definitely going to betray Code soon. A little later on, Jura continues to push Ryu to look inward to find his identity. This leads Ryu to figure out who his primary target is: Gaara of the Sand.

Boruto x Kawaki: An Exciting Team Up!

The chapter ends with Kawaki and Boruto conversing on the Hokage Rock. They discuss the current situation regarding Boruto’s karma, Momoshiki’s silence for the past three years, and why Boruto didn’t tell Konoha the truth. However, Boruto feels that there are more important matters to worry about, such as the Divine Trees. Boruto thinks that he and Kawaki should team up to take them down, but Kawaki has to get stronger first. Apparently, Amado has been hiding Kawaki’s power from him all this time, preventing Kawaki from reaching his full potential. So the first goal for Kawaki to accomplish right now is make Amado talk.

That being said, Kawaki still thinks that all Ohtsutsuki should be perished, including him and Boruto. Excitingly though, he agrees to work with Boruto to take out the Divine Trees first by any means necessary. This leads to the chapter ending with Boruto and Kawaki doing friendly banter with one another, reminding me of Naruto and Sasuke.

So, What’s Next?

There’s a lot that could happen from here, as many plot points opened up. Ryu seems to be a very confident and strong humanoid Divine Tree that could cause some problems. On the other hand, Amado listening in on the conversation between Boruto and Kawaki can provoke some dangerous desperate moves from him. Nevertheless, this Kawaki and Boruto team-up will be really good not just for strength but for a possible change in the way how the village views Boruto. Yet again, another fantastic Boruto chapter that makes me look forward to the next!
